The shipbuilding industry's production form is significantly different from the general industry. The shipbuilding industry usually adopts a decentralized production method. Each construction link is an independent individual. Once a ground fault occurs, it will cause a bad impact on the normal operation of the ship. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job in the grounding work of ship electrical appliances. Below we mainly introduce the construction technology of ship electrical wiring.
The cutting of the cable sheath must not damage the insulation of the core, and ensure that the core has the necessary length and spare length after the cable enters the device. The cutting part of the cable sheath should be peeled off at the 5-10 mm of the inner wall of the inlet of the device.
The tape should be longer than the metal braid to prevent the metal braid from puncturing the insulation of the core. For equipment with a relatively large internal space, such as main power distribution boards, emergency power distribution boards, and centralized control consoles, the sheath can be peeled off near the terminal posts, and the metal mesh can be grounded nearby.
Cables entering the equipment should be firmly fixed at the equipment inlet. The electrical equipment of engine room, cargo space, weather deck and engine room shed shall use stuffing box, and the equipment using cable entry hole in the room shall take effective measures to meet the water tightness requirements of the area.
For electrical equipment using stuffing boxes, after the stuffing box prepared according to the requirements is compacted, neither the cable nor the stuffing box should be loose, and at the same time, the water-tight rubber at the root and the inner sealing rubber of the stuffing box should be intact.
The end of the core should generally be provided with a joint. The joint must be cold-pressed with the core. The inner diameter of the ring lug connector sleeve should match the diameter of the core conductor. The wire diameter of the joint is slightly larger than the diameter of the equipment terminal. All cold-pressed joints must be crimped with special tools, and the die of the special tool should be selected according to the specifications of the joint. It is strictly prohibited to use non-special tools such as diagonal pliers for crimping.
The protective earth of electrical equipment shall be connected to the hull permanent structure or to a base or bracket welded to the hull. The grounding of equipment installed on rock wool installation boards shall be connected to the steel part of the hull. The ground point should not be vulnerable to mechanical damage and oil and water impregnation.
All equipment with a power plug should use the dual grounding mode in which both the plug ground and the body ground are used. High-power equipment such as generators and side thrusters need to be repeatedly grounded with multiple ground wires.
