WHAT IS THE TERMINAL BLOCK？

The terminal block refers to the insulated part that carries multiple or groups of mutually insulated terminal components and is used to fix the supporting parts. The function of the terminal block is to connect the circuit of the equipment inside and outside the screen, and play the role of signal (current and voltage) transmission. With the terminal block, the wiring is beautiful and the maintenance is convenient. The connection between the remote off-line is mainly reliable and the construction and maintenance are convenient.

The termination method refers to the connection method of the contact pair of the terminal with the electrical wire or electrical cable. Proper selection of termination methods and proper use of termination technology are also an important aspect of using and selecting terminal blocks.

Welding

The most common type of soldering is soldering. The most important thing for a solder connection is that metal continuity should form between the solder and the surface being soldered. Therefore, solderability is important for terminal blocks. The most common coatings on the soldered ends of terminal blocks are tin alloys, silver, and gold. The common welding ends of reed contact pair are welding plate, punching welding plate and notched welding plate; the common welding ends of pinhole contact pair are drilling arc notched welding plate.

Crimping

Crimping is a technique for compressing and displacing metal within specified limits and connecting wires to contact pairs. A good crimp connection can produce a mutual melt flow of the metal, which causes the wire and the contact to deform symmetrically to the material. This connection is similar to a cold-welded connection, it can get better mechanical strength and electrical continuity, and it can withstand more severe environmental conditions. It is generally believed that using the correct crimp connection is better than soldering, especially in high current applications, crimping must be used. When crimping, special crimping pliers, automatic or semi-automatic crimping machines must be used. According to the cross section of the cold pressed terminal wire, the conductor barrel of the contact pair shall be selected correctly. It should be noted that the crimp connection is a permanent connection and can only be used once.

Wrapping

Wrapping is to wrap the wire directly on the winding column of the contact with edges and corners. During winding, the conductor is wound under the control of tension, pressed in and fixed at the corner of the contact winding column to form air tight contact. Wrapping tools include wind guns and stationary winders. There are several requirements for wrapping wires.

1. The nominal value of the wire diameter should be in the range of 0.25mm to 1.0mm.

2. When the wire diameter is not greater than 0.5mm, the elongation of the conductor material is not less than 15%.

3. When the wire diameter is greater than 0.5mm, the conductor The elongation of the material is not less than 20%. 

Puncturing Connection

Puncturing connection is a new terminal technology invented by the United States in the 1960s. It has the characteristics of high reliability, low cost and convenient use. It has been widely used in various wiring terminals for printed circuit boards. It is suitable for the connection of ribbon cables. When connecting, it is not necessary to strip the insulation layer of the cable. The tip of the "U" shaped contact reed of the terminal is inserted into the insulation layer to make the conductor of the cable slide into the groove of the contact reed and be clamped, so as to form a tight electrical connection between the cable conductor and the terminal spring. It only needs simple tools, but must choose the  power cable with specified wire gauge.

Screw Connection

The screw connection is a connection method of screw-type terminal blocks. Pay attention to the maximum and minimum cross-sections of the connecting wires and the maximum tightening torque allowed by screws of different specifications.
